Less than two days after being selected as the Conservative candidate for Eddisbury, Antoinette Sandbach visited Audlem.

She said she was extremely keen to come to the village and was clearly impressed by what she saw and had heard about the area.

She visited Oxtail & Trotter, JA's cafe, the newly opened Llovely, Audlem CycleSport and Audlem Dry Cleaners as well as meeting many local residents. In the butchers she also saw one of the seven electronic screens that announce local events.

She spoke about planning issues and how village housing development needs to be sustainable and small scale and seemed to be well aware of the recent appeals and permissions for larger developments in the village.

In Oxtail & Trotter, she stressed her support for the use of locally sourced meat, a policy she has pursued in her recent role as Shadow Minister for Agriculture and Rural Affairs in the Welsh Assembly.

She told AudlemOnline that she planned to move house to the constituency if successful on 7th May but, as far as we could ascertain, yesterday's visit was not a house finding expedition but that she planned to be back in the village shortly.

The photos show Antoinette Sandbach at Oxtail & Trotter, JA's cafe and Audlem Dry Cleaners.
