Following Eddisbury MP Stephen O'Brien's appointment to a senior role at the United Nations, the constituency Conservative Party met last night to choose their candidate for the General Election on 7th May.

Three applicants spoke at the hustings in Tarporley last night and Antoinette Mackeson-Sandbach was chosen by an overall majority in the first round of voting.

Antoinette Mackeson-Sandbach lives on the family farm in North Wales. She is recently married, has a young daughter aged 12, and enjoys walking, country pursuits and is a keen supporter of the arts.

She practised as a barrister for 10 years in London, during this time serving two terms on the Bar Council and providing legal aid advice and support for those that needed it.

Antoinette Mackeson-Sandbach previously stood as a Parliamentary candidate in Delyn in the 2010 General Election.

In 2011 she was elected as a regional Assembly Member for the North Wales area and was appointed Shadow Rural Affairs Minister. She also sits on the Assembly's Environment & Sustainability Committee.

We understand that she has visited Audlem and knows the Audlem CycleSport shop.
