As reported on Audlem Online in July, more double yellow lines are coming soon to Audlem's village centre. The signs are now up on lampposts advising of new parking restrictions in the centre of Audlem following the opening of the Co-op's new store. The new double yellows follow agreement by Borough and County councillors.

It is being proposed that 'no waiting' signs and double yellow lines will apply for 148 metres from the canal bridge on the Co-op's side of the road with 'no loading and unloading' also introduced over that distance. There will also be no waiting on the opposite side of Shropshire Street from the bridge for 43 metres eastwards. It will mean that delivery trucks to the Co-op will not be allowed to unload outside the front of the store.

The big question remains: will the yellow paint be applied before or after the desperately needed resurfacing of the road?
