Combermere Abbey events programme

Combermere Abbey, four miles to the west of Audlem, is laying on a season of events this year. It begins with the Bluebell Walk on Sunday 30th April. Last year's 2 mile walk attracted 900 people who enjoyed the carpet of flowers in the woods. The event starts at 1.00pm with last walkers at 3.30pm. Entry is £3 for adults and £2 for children under 16. Dogs on leads are welcome and refreshments will be available.

On June 10th there is the annual Rock 'n' Pop concert by the lake with this year's bill headed by Kiki Dee, famed for her number one hit Don't Go Breaking My Heart, a duet with Elton John. Also playing are Doctor and the Medics, who had a multi-million selling hit with Spirit in the Sky. The gates open at 5.00pm with music from 7.30pm. It's £20 for adults and £10 for under 16's when pre-booked. Prices on the night are £25 and £15. The concert finishes with a fireworks display just before 11.00pm.

A new event this year is a performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth on Saturday 29th July by the Twisted Elbow Theatre Company on the lawns in front of the house. Tickest are £12 for adults, £10 for under 14's and £35 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children).
