Coffee & Biscuits

A reminder that tomorrow, Saturday 5th April, from 9.30 to 12noon, as a thank you to the village for the support given in raising funds to repair the church roof, Church Members invite all to enjoy free Coffee and Biscuits in Church.

There will also be an opportunity to visit the bell chamber (and try ringing) and to view church records and photographs dating back to 1813 before these are deposited in the archives for safe keeping.

Heavy metal in the church tower on Saturday 5th April

GREAT opportunity to start a new hobby, to exercise your brains and help keep you fit: Audlem bell ringers are going to teach a new group of learners.

Bell ringing is an English tradition that goes back 400 years. Almost anyone can learn, from the age of ten upwards – it's great for young adults, or parents and older children, and some people are still ringing in their 80s.

Most ringers practise one evening a week and ring on Sunday mornings. And there's much more you can do if you like, when you've taken the first few steps.

The first step is learning how to ring a bell, which takes a few weeks, then you can start to join in with the other ringers. It's free, you don't have to be a churchgoer, and you don't have to be musical – if you can tap your foot to a tune, that's enough!

To see the bells being rung and perhaps do lesson one, come to the tower on Saturday 5th April, any time between 9:30 and 12:00 midday.

Or contact Christine Johnson on (01270) 811774 or Chris Hughes on (01270) 812038.
