The main road from Audlem to Nantwich, the A529, will be closed at the point where the B5071 (signposted to Crewe) turns off at Oakes Corner.

This closure is scheduled for 9.30am to 4.30pm on each of March 24th, March 25th and March 26th (i.e. Wednesday to Friday this week).

The road will be closed to allow resurfacing work at the junction.

Going from Audlem to Nantwich, it is possible to turn right about 1km before this corner (towards Hunsterson), then first left, keep left at the fork in the road, cross over the B5071 and then another 1km to rejoin the A529 beyond the closure. This is probably the diversion that will be signposted, but it is a narrow lane and the alternative route of going to Nantwich via Coole Lane might well be preferred by those lucky owners of tanks, tracklaying vehicles or cars with strong enough suspension to cope with the appalling road surface..
