The current Vote Poll on Audlem Online asks: "Should the canal towpath to Nantwich be improved?"
The Weaver Way from Audlem to Frodsham across Cheshire was formally opened in June 2008. It is a long-term project to provide a walking and cycling route across the county. The route initially follows the towpath of the Shropshire Union from Audlem to Nantwich and Barbridge.
Just north of Audlem's lock 15, the towpath only has a grass surface which gets very muddy, particularly in winter, making it difficult for walkers and unsuitable for cyclists. Should the towpath be improved by providing a suitable hard surface for walkers and cyclists?
