A new season of classical music, at the Festival Centre in Market Drayton, launches at 3pm on Sunday 22 October

Ben Tarlton (cello) and Robin Green (piano) will play Adagio and Allegro by Schumann (at his most romantic); Beethoven's cello sonata No1; Janacek's Pohádka, based on an exotic folk tale, and Poulenc's playful sonata for cello and piano. They describe their programme as joyous and uplifting.

Ben founded the Llantwit Major Chamber Music Festival and teaches at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. After one of his performances broadcast on BBC Radio 3, The Guardian described him as "Playing with extraordinary precision and insight." Robin Green was praised by Vladimir Ashkenazy as "A highly gifted young musician. A born pianist."

The concert will consist of two forty-minute sets with a twenty-minute interval between them.

Tickets cost £15 (£5 for under 21's). They can be booked online via festivaldraytoncentre.com for a small fee or by phone on 01630-654444 with no fee. The Festival Centre is grateful for financial support for this concert from The Musicians' Company.

Further concerts in the series, all on Sundays at 3pm, will be:

21 Jan -- piano recital by Daniel Lebhardt

25 Feb -- Natrio Trumpet Trio

24 March -- Madeleine Pickering (violin) and Julian Chan (piano)

I hugely appreciate your help in publicising this.

Best wishes

John Hargreaves
