The latest issue of the Audlem Parish Newsletter is being distributed at present. As well as news from many village organisations, one notable announcement was about the children's playground.

A grant of £17,000 had been awarded by Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council for new equipment and improvements to the children's playground earlier this year. The Parish Council then submitted an application to WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental Limited) for top up funding to complete the work planned.

The good news is that WREN has now granted the full £11,400 balance required to upgrade the children's playground, meaning there's a total of £28,400 to install the planned new equipment and tarmac the paths.

The Newsletter adds a thank you to the Parish Council's playground committee, especially Cllr Peter Morgan. The Parish Council agreed to provide match funding of £1,254 which was required to unlock Landfill Communities Funding.
