The Clerk from Audlem Parish Council has contacted Audlem Online to ask us to advertise the fact that Cheshire Local Access Forum is looking for new members. They are inviting interested people to apply to join the Forum which is a statutory advisory body with a strategic role in advising Natural England, local authorities and National Park authorities on the improvement of public access to the countryside in their area, for open air recreation.

For more information about this Forum, the application process, and who to contact if you have queries, download their letter (below photo).

The Forum's current membership is 13, although its constitution allows for up to 22, and new members are being recruited now. They particularly want people who represent the following interests:

a) Users of local rights of way ie walkers, cyclists, horse riders and carriage drivers;
b) Owners and users of access land, or land crossed by rights of way;
c) Other interests (for example, tourism, sport and active recreation, nature conservation, education, heritage, health, transport and local business interests).

Applications should be sent in writing to Mr John White, Chairman, Cheshire Local Access Forum c/o Public Rights of Way, Phoenix House, Clough Road, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 4BD and must be received by 5pm on Friday 5 October 2009.
