Cheshire Gin Crowned Best In The Country

Last night (Thursday 23rd), Three Wrens Distillery https://threewrensgin.com/ 's Exquisite Citrus Gin became the best in the country , as it cemented the award for England's Best Gin in the signature botanical category at The World Gin Awards https://www.worldginawards.com/ in London.

The independent distillery, founded just three years ago by veteran distiller Nick Wadeson from a small woodland premises, has since upsized and is now operating from a large distillery and gin school in the Cheshire countryside. Three Wrens started out by crafting hand-distilled, home-grown gins opposite Cholmondeley castle, and now reside a few miles away on the edge of the Combermere Estate. With a background in mixology, Nick soon began exploring new and unique flavours which helped him to create over 10 unique award-winning flavoured gins, including the extremely popular Bison Grass and Apple Crumble flavours.

It was the Exquisite Citrus Gin — launched less than a year ago — that took home this prestigious award for 2023 though. Presented in a stunning translucent yellow bottle, the gin's expression features the rare Jara lemon, alongside Italian Bergamot, Kumquat, Pomelo & Shikuwasa. It is best served with Mediterranean Tonic or in a 'white lady' cocktail.

The England's Best Gin award is added to Three Wrens' fast-expanding trophy cabinet. Only recently has the company taken home prizes including Cheshire's Drink Producer of the Year and the Golden Fork at the prestigious Great Taste Awards.
