Cheshire East to refund for brown bin service soon

Attention all those who prepaid for the garden waste service in August 2008!

Yesterday I had confirmation from Rachel Carroll of Cheshire East Council that the refunds for the garden waste service provided via the brown bins are in the process of being paid.

Rachel has prepared a list of all residents who are entitled to the refund and it has been dispatched to County Hall, from where the payments will be made. The list details some 1900 residents who prepaid for the service. She estimates that cheques will arrive in the post within two to three weeks. However, there will not be any explanation accompanying the cheque, so if you receive a cheque for £7.67 from Cheshire East Council, it will be for the brown bin refund.
