Cheshire East have submitted a bid to government to build the MIddlewich Eastern Bypass road.
The development of the £58.5 million scheme to date has been backed with money from the Department for Transport's (DfT) funding programme for fast track major schemes.
Whilst funds will apparently be made available directly from Cheshire East council contributions will be sought from the private sector. It's unclear at this time if this suggests that the bypass could be at least partly in private ownership, similar to the wholly privately Australian owned M6 Toll Road.
