Cheshire East Councillors to Elect New Leader

Readers will remember that Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of Cheshire East Conservatives and Council, resigned as Cheshire East Leader in December.

We understand that the election for the new Cheshire East Conservative Leader and thus the Cheshire East Council will take place on Thursday 14th January, by secret ballot of all Conservative councillors.

The candidates are expected to be :

• Our own Audlem Councillor Rachel Bailey,
• Councillor Janet Clowes, Councillor for Wybunbury.
• Councillor David Brown, Councillor for Congleton East and currently Deputy Leader.

We await with interest to see if Audlem will have its first Cheshire East Council Leader. We will report the result as soon as we have it.
