CHESHIRE POLICE AND CRIME PANEL

In recent months Cheshire has seen the appointment of a new Chief Constable,
confirmed by the Cheshire Police and Crime Panel and a newly elected Police and a
Crime Commissioner.

One more exciting opportunity exists, that of an Independent Co-opted member of the
Cheshire Police and Crime Panel. Panels are mandated by an Act of Parliament to
support, challenge, and scrutinise the Police and Crime Commissioner in pursuance
of his or her responsibilities. Panels are funded by the Home Office and a small annual
allowance is paid to members.

Anyone who lives or works in Cheshire, who has a background or experience that they
feel would aid the Panel and can demonstrate that they would work independently, is
encouraged to apply. Details can be found in the odf file below the photograph .

Commenting on this opportunity Cheshire's Police and Crime Panel Chair, Evan
Morris MBE, himself an independent co-opted member, said: "we are seeking the very
best candidate possible to become a part of the policing family, dedicated to working
as a team to make Cheshire safer. We are committed to creating a diverse Panel, with
a balance of skills and experience to help us deliver our statutory responsibilities."

For further information please contact Martin Smith, the Panel's Support Officer;
