Celia Bloor writes: "The November talk to the History Society was 'vernacular architecture of Cheshire'. Cheshire cobbles were mentioned as a typical feature. Unfortunately only the week before, the cobbles in front of 'Keith Hill Bookmakers' by Vicarage Gardens had been put in a skip.
"Possibly too late now but it just shows how vigilant we have to be to keep local features instead of national garden centre type paving."
