Audlem Charity Shop

This tiny shop has been active now for some 20 years , having previously been sited over the old COOP store – that is now the famous cycle shop.

In those 20 years, the lady volunteers have generated some £300,000 plus from sales of goods kindly donated by many many villagers and beyond.

This money has been given away as donations to such more local good bodies such as St Luke's Hospice, The Wingate Trust, Donna Louise Hospice , Audlem District Carers Association and others ..

The team to day , is new and full of enthusiasm determined to carry on the great work previously done under the chairmanship of Ann Bowles , now retired .
Helen Beardshall has picked up the baton and with a very effective team of superb ladies and fellow menfolk, are working so well to get the best we can for all we support.

In spite of Covid rules making us close for so much of the last year, we are delighted to report that we have reached £25,000 which we are now sending to the charities who have all struggled under the virus cloud.

Added to that , with the very generous help of many , we have now replaced the rotting main window with new frame and safety glass.
Mark Ayres of Warmund House – Doddington Park Farm – Has very kindly donated new floor covering and is also laying it for us.
Eddie Rowley is heading a team in the painting etc .
And we hope now that we will be able to open around the 12th of April, and to continue the work we do so well from out tiny shop – that has a" big heart '"
See my photos with this to see the works undertaken this weekend .
