The next charity car wash at Audlem Fire Station is to be on Saturday 18th October. Donations for the car wash will go towards the Fire Cadets going to Ghana next year.

Regular readers may recall that Isobel Sykes Cadet Leader, Matthew Turner and Naomi Brown, Audlem Fire Cadets have been chosen to go to Ghana, to represent Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS).

Mat and Naomi will be part of a team of 16 cadets supporting vital charity work and working closely with Ghana Outlook. In 2005 and 2007 CFRS cadets helped to build two new schools in the rural areas of the Volta region of Ghana in West Africa and are now providing education to hundreds of children in and around the surrounding areas. Now it is Naomi and Mat's turn, supported by Isobel, to work alongside other cadets and help build a new school in Adeklu Helepke.

The task is huge and Naomi, Mat and Audlem cadets have got to fund raise a huge amount of money – £7,000 by July 2009. The car wash is part of that fund raising effort.
