This week I received a request from a family in Australia to research the records I hold for the burials in our magnificent cemetery. The request was to find the graves of the Timmis families.
I set out to delve into the books of record and was amazed to find that since 1886, some 50 persons bearing this name are buried here. All came from Buerton and Audlem in the vast majority and are listed in ages ranging from 5 weeks to 94 years. Occupations given in the main are as farm workers, joiners and wheelwrights.
A fascinating record and one that has now been sent to Australia. So many folks read our prize winning web site and this is one further example of its reach and its respect across the world.
