Tomorrow, Wednesday July 3rd will see 'Bring and Share Memories', a Celebration Event of over 40 years voluntary service at Thornton House to be opened by Dr Michael Thornton at 2.00pm

After more than 40 years, Thornton House is closing at the end of July 2013 and is being redeveloped to provide modern bungalows for older people.

So come along and share your memories and enjoy tea and cakes. Volunteers, present and past, are invited to attend the Celebration Event. Please bring any photographs and stories to share if possible.

Ever since it opened, local people have volunteered to provide a range of social activities, luncheon clubs, tea clubs, meals-on-wheels and day clubs for older people in the village and district. This is an occasion to celebrate the past and look forward to the future.

ADCA AGM

Immediately prior to the Celebration event, at 1pm, ADCA will hold its AGM at Thornton House.

ADCA has been officially told that it has been successful in obtaining two Innovation Grants from Cheshire East – one to extend the befriending and library services and the other to carry on the Volunteer Driving service.
