There's been huge support for the ceilidh in the Public Hall that ARS, the Audlem Ramblers Society, has organised for Friday 21st November. All tickets have now been sold and the organisers are grateful for the support from everyone who has bought tickets and is helping with the event.

Regular readers of Audlem Online will recall that back in April Kate Down fell and broke her leg whilst out walking with ARS. She had to be rescued by the Air Ambulance as the area where she fell was inaccessible to a normal ambulance.

Despite being an important arm of the rescue services, all of the Air Ambulances throughout the country are funded by donations, not through taxes. Following Kate's accident, ARS members agreed to raise money to support this valuable service.

The ceilidh includes a two-course meal – chilli or lasagne (with a vegetarian option), followed by a sweet. Doors open at 7.15, with food being served at 7.45. There will be a licensed bar. The music will be provided by Audlem's own ceilidh band, The Crofters, who are donating their fee to the Air Ambulance Fund.
