The 203rd Audlem Carnival will be held on Monday , 25th of May.
This traditional carnival is free to all comers .
Sadly the days of a long winding procession though the village are gone. No floats any more .
( health and safety rule them out) . No Morris dancing and thigh slapping groups of girls – far too expensive now to get them from far afield . But a great day out. Hopefully with Irish Dancing show. ballroom dancing exhibition. Music from a band of some 40 musicians .
A great chance and opportunity for many charities and budding businesses to have a stall on the day. The traditional fun fair with its candy floss and hook a duck stalls , plus the fast waltzer for the braver ones.
Hot dogs, and fine refreshments in the Hall by The Hankelow Amenities Group. The crowning of the new Carnival Queen and her princesses- chosen by the pupils of St James School .
All in all , a great family afternoon in safety -and on the playing field – Audlem's great treasure for such happenings .
