Cheshire East Council is further pledging its support for carers across the Borough with a string of events taking place.

Carers Week 2012 takes place between June 18th and 24th and the Council is reminding Cheshire East's 39,000-plus carers that a host of help and advice sessions will be on offer during the week.

The theme this year is 'In Sickness and in Health' and carers are being asked how much their role impacts on their health and wellbeing.

The Council and Central and Eastern Cheshire PCT are assisting their partners across the voluntary, community and faith sector with events such as pamper days, cookery demonstrations and a sponsored walk at Reaseheath College, in Nantwich.

A full list of events is available in the 'In Focus' section of the Cheshire East Council website: www.cheshireeast.gov.uk

Carers Week is also an opportunity for the Council to reach out to the community to identify 'hidden carers'. There may be a neighbour or friend who is supporting a loved one in isolation and may need that extra support or signposting to services, which they may not be aware of.

For more information visit www.cheshireeast.gov.uk and type 'carers' into the search box. Or simply click on the link below the council logo.
