Each year, Audlem & District Community Action – ADCA – supports national Carers Rights Day which aims to bring carers' organisation together across the UK to help carers in their local community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.

This year Carers Rights Day is on Friday 30 November and ADCA will be holding an information and activity drop in session for carers between 1pm and 3pm in the Public Hall Annexe.

If you are caring for someone at the moment and would like to find out more about your rights and get some help and advice, then call in for a coffee and a chat. Having the right information at the right time can make all the difference when you're looking after someone. Every day 6,000 people become carers but often it's not something people plan for.

This Carers Rights Day is focused on supporting people to prepare for the future through the theme: Caring for Your Future. The aim this year is to:

  • Make carers aware of their rights
  • Let carers know where to get help and support
  • Raise awareness of the needs of carers

Audlem Carers' Support Group, which is part of ADCA, also receives funding from Cheshire East Council to provide regular carers' breaks throughout the year and to keep in touch with over eighty local carers with information, support and advice.

The Support Group meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at the Lord Combermere, The Square, Audlem. Drop in between 9.30am and 11.30am for coffee, chat and information. The Support Group is open to everyone who provides care support to family members, friends or neighbours. You are most welcome to come along and join us.

For information about Carers' Break activities or the local Audlem Carers Support Group please call Lynn Morear, ADCA Assistant Coordinator on: 07595 919727
