A silver Peugeot car parked in Cheshire Street was badly vandalised overnight on Sunday after the Transport Festival.

On Monday morning, the owner found the roof of the car covered in footprints and badly dented.  It was reported to the police who sent SOCO over to examine the prints.

Even worse, the car was owned by a member of the ASET team who had spent many days, including much of that weekend, helping to organise the Transport Festival, a great event enjoyed by thousands.

Sunday night saw, of course, other damage in the village centre to plant troughs and another vehicle. In a similar recent rampage the previous weekend, a memorial bench was destroyed and plants badly damaged.

The police suggested to the car owner that an appeal be put out on Audlem Online for any information that might help in identifying those responsible.

CCTV was also in operation in The Square which is being examined.

If you saw anything or know who was responsible, please contact the police as soon as possible. The car owner, and many others, will be very grateful for your assistance.
