Good morning all,

Herewith report for the work completed at Audlem on the 7/8th of July:

  • Repainted Lock 13 of the flight
  • Edged grass around Lock 13
  • Removed all the weeds, dirt and grass from the Lock quadrants of Lock 13.
  • Edged grass along the tow-path adjacent to Lock 13
  • Trimmed overhanging foliage on the Lock off side, done for safety reasons
  • Trimmed and tidied the foliage on the lock-side and bank
  • Edged grass around the bywash wash-wall, done for safety reasons, above Lock 13
  • Cut and trimmed hedges to reveal the Audlem information sign (CW&C owned) and the services sign (CRT Owned)
  • Edged grass around the wharf and lock cottage, removing weeds.
  • Removed weeds from the services ramp
  • undertaken a temporary repair of the bin compound gate post and fence
  • Removed weeds from the brick surface between the lay wharf and the Lock

Also completed was the renewal of the safety fence, approx 120m worth, along the access drive between the Mill and the canal bank, the fence has been repainted too, this was completed by staff from Canal & River Trust.

Last night also, the volunteers received an award. I was pleased to accept on behalf of the Audlem volunteer team, who have worked so hard at Audlem a "Thank-You" award gift. The award was presented by Neville Preece and Duncan Davenport to us after the volunteers enjoyed a fish & chip supper as part of the night's work.
