Following the last Canal & River Trust Volunteer Task Force Day Report from the 'A Team' based in Audlem.

A short update, as promised, including a few photographs of the hedge cutting activity around lock 8 on the Audlem Flight.

Again 5 members of the team were on duty today, Friday, with very light boat traffic requiring our lock keeping services we turned our attentions again to cutting back the overgrown hedge in the lock 8 towpath area.

Still work in progress but we have now cut back around two thirds of the hedge, opening up the tow path to its original width.

The working day was made even more rewarding by the positive comments made by the passing towpath walkers, 'thank you from the team'

As always, hot drinks were made readily available by one of the team members, followed by hot sausage rolls and mince pies.

Over the Christmas period you will still find members of the team lock keeping on the Audlem flight of locks.
