Canal Bench Seat Missing

Bench on the canal.

One of the benches is missing. I walk up the canal tow path most days and find sometimes I need to sit down and rest. I quite often use the seat near lock 9 as a convenient resting point.

This seat has disappeared, having asked around it seems it may have been stolen. Most of the benches have commemorative plaques on, which makes it even more annoying. So please can we have our bench back, the walkers of Audlem need you.

"We have spoken to canal volunteers and a member of the Cart work force who all know nothing. Have also contacted the Shropshire Union Canal Society who provided the bench and awaiting reply from them. The only thoughts is it was stolen for firewood or kids having fun. Either way they took on quite a job as it heavy and not easy to remove. The plot thickens."
