There is still a short time left for you to get painting or write a poem or short story about what you think Audlem will be like in the future. Imagine life 5, 10, 15 years or even 20 years from now.

The Parish Council is sponsoring this summer competition as a way of encouraging our younger residents to get involved in the preparation of our Neighbourhood Plan. Entries can be in art form (painting/drawing/collage) or written in verse or prose (no more than 200 words). There are 3 age groups (with the cut-off date being 31 August 2014): 5 and below, 6 – 11 and age 12 – 18. Six prizes will be awarded – one for art and one for written entries in each age group,

As reported earlier, we already have many entries – for which we are grateful – but we could do with a few more, especially of the written variety. Let your imagination run wild and come up with an amazing vision of life here in the future. Will St James's Church turn into a large supermarket and car park? (Honestly, this was once suggested, although it was some time around the very start of April!)

The deadline for entries is 14 October and all you need to do is produce your masterpiece and hand it in to Williams' newsagents who have kindly agreed to collect them. Judging will be carried out by a panel headed by Jane Marshall who will oversee the difficult task of deciding the winners. Artwork will be judged by Sheila Webster and Annabel Thornton and written entries will be judged by Joan Pierce and Jeff Price.

Please get involved and create something that will wow the judges.
