A question has been raised by residents Dave and Lynn Rowe about a pair of buzzards very close to their bungalow at the western end of the village. They ask the people who know about wild birds, and have lived in the village all their lives, if this a common sight, or indeed, site. They say it is wonderful to see them in flight and wonder if this has become their home.

Buzzards have become relatively common in the past decade. Before then, they would generally be seen in wilder areas such as the Long Myndd in the Shropshire hills. They then appeared in the Highfields area and were next seen around Hatherton and also the Bagley Lane area. In the last few years they have been seen regularly around and over the village. Their call is often heard as it carries an amazing distance. Has anyone else any observations on these relatively new residents?
