Busy WI programme

Audlem WI's summer programme started with a catalogue of wedding faux pas going on to the humorous side of nursing and a saga of 30-odd years as a vet's wife – all from a variety of speakers.

The institute's garden party will be held in the garden of Christine and Roy Plume's home on 6th August, featuring a summer hat parade.

A visit to the Ashford-in-the-Water well dressing was a huge success as was the excellent lunch at the Pear View Restaurant.

An outing to Southport with lunch at the Prince of Wales Hotel is scheduled for Thursday August 20th, and a five-day turkey and tinsel holiday is proposed in November/December.
