Budding local star

Have we a budding West End Star in our midst? Milly – Jane Perkin, past pupil of Audlem St James and now of Brine Leas, is a member of the cast of the Musical HIGH SOCIETY being performed over 5 nights, and also matinees, at the Lyceum Thatre in Crewe this October – from the 20th to the 24th.

Milly, who is a member of the cast of 5As and performed in the Panto and the May weekend comedy, attended auditons for High Society many months ago and, even though only 14, she was chosen to play.

For the past months she has rehearsed dance routines and singing as the cast build towards their big occasion. The whole performance is being presented by Rockhopper Productions.

Great songsMilly is enjoying all the hard work immensely and is thrilled to be part of the cast and in being the youngest member. The wonderful songs of the show include High Society; Who wants to be a millionaire?; I Love Paris; and that marvelous reprise sung by Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra in the original film – What a Swell Party.

Many will remember the film starring Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby and the lovely Grace Kelly – issued in 1957. And that great duo by Bing and the marvelous Louis Armstrong – Now you have Jazz.
