Please help Audlem Brownies who are taking part in the Blue Peter appeal for shoes. Every year 2 million pairs of shoes are thrown away. This year's Blue Peter appeal aims to collect and recycle some of those shoes to support the work of UNICEF in Malawi. This African country has been ravaged by Aids and UNICEF is trying to help some of the orphaned children by setting up refuges called "Children's Corners" where children can go for a few hours of fun, education and a healthy meal.

Audlem Brownies are collecting shoes in good condition, without holes or damage, for the "Shoe Biz Appeal". Shoes, boots, slippers etc must be laced together or fastened with a strong rubber band and can be left when the Scout and Guide Hall is open or given to a Guide or Brownie to deposit in our collection bags at the Hall.

Further details are on the appeal website at www.shoebizappeal.org.uk or watch Blue Peter for an update. Please remember that the shoes must be in a reasonable condition so that they can be refurbished.

Thank you for your support. The appeal runs into the New Year and Brownies will start again on January 9th.
