Saturday Night 23 brave walkers at the Bridge Inn walked over burning embers to raise funds for St Luke's Hospice. Well over £7000 was raised which with gift aid should approach £8000.
Debbie from St. Lukes explained that government funding covers just 19% of their cost leaving the rest to be raised by events such as this.
The evening began with a secretive session in which the 23 brave souls were told how to overcome their fears of stepping onto the embers. The fire was lit and all 23 came out to look at what was before them. Every one went for it.
The photos show Ralph working the watching crowd before the event and emerging from the smoke as he was first up!
The remaining photos show Gary Belllingham of the Bridge Inn and others of the 23 as they braved the embers.

Well done to everyone involved.
