Audlem's cricketers were involved in a run feast on Saturday when both teams had matches against Styal. The two matches produced almost 800 runs.

Playing at home in a thrilling game, the 1st XI made 236 with Simon Banks leading the scoring with 80. He was helped by contributions from Steve Swallow (41), Dave Baxter (33) and Tom Measures (25).

Styal, to their credit, chased the high target despite losing their first four wickets for only 32 runs. It was only when their 9th wicket fell with five overs left that they stopped the run chase. Despite accurate bowling and a ring of close fielders, their last pair saw out the overs as they played out a draw, scoring 210 for 9. Stuart Elkes (3 for 57) and Hugh Ratcliffe (3 for 62) were Audlem's leading wicket takers.

In the reverse fixture at Styal, the 2nd XI also drew. Styal, batting first, were all out for 197. Dave Adlard bowled all the way through Styal's innings and finished with figures of 5 for 65 off 23 overs. He was supported by Oliver Burney, who took 3 for 34

In reply, Audlem chased the run target, but after losing their eighth wicket, they settled for a draw, scoring 155 for 8 at the close of play. All Audlem's early batsmen scored double figures, with Chris Thompson finishing top scorer with 32.

On Saturday both teams play Langley, with the 2nd XI at home, whilst the 1st XI travel to the picturesque ground in the foothills of the Pennines.
