The Conservative leader of Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council, Cllr Brian Silvester, has taken up the concerns published on Audlem Online about ambulance response times. In a letter published today in the Chronicle he says:-
"Ambulance response times in Crewe & Nantwich are the third worst in the country. Recently a seriously ill man in Audlem had to wait for over an hour for an ambulance to arrive. This deplorable situation should not happen again."
"It is scandalous that response rates have been declining for three years running and nothing effective has been done to improve it. The fear is that the service will get even worse now that the local service has been merged into the North West Ambulance Service," he said before adding: "The ambulance service is now too remote and distant and response times are at a dangerously poor level."
