Blue Café will be playing live at ‘Picnic in the Hall’ at Audlem Public Hall on 3rd September. Doors open at 7.30pm
They will be supported by critically acclaimed Hello Big World and tickets are £6 in advance.
It had been over 5 years since Blue Cafe performed as a live band, but that changed on the 12th February 2011. Playing live at the ‘Acoustic Sessions at the Blue Café’, Blue Café played a comeback gig to a sell out audience supported by the Folkwits and The Spare Ribs.
A stunning set at a follow up gig at the opening of ChuffChuffs Crewe venue really pulled the Band together, an ideal prelude to the performance at the Crown during the Nantwich Jazz and Blues festival. This venue was one of Blue Café's favourite performance venues and the audience were vocally more than happy to see them playing back there.
Back home in Audlem, they performed at the Audlem Music Festival on the headlining Sunday with the much acclaimed Traveling Band, Radio 2‘s Jeremy Vine's current favourites The Reads, and The Dunwell Brothers who recently secured a recording contact. Further gigs followed with invites to play at Private events over the summer.
The 3rd September however, see’s Blue Café supported by the critically acclaimed due Hello Big World , playing at ‘Picnic in the Public Hall’ Event in Audlem.
Alg Halliwell & Val Warner’s Blue Café headline the evening. With the new Blue Café line up that features Mike Waldron on Bass, Ian Haughey on guitar, Seve G on percussion and Sally Keighley on Cello. Performing some of the classic Blue Café back catalogue alongside some newly penned material.
There have been numerous occasions when Alg Halliwell has been asked about playing live again, a much missed performer by many. “We felt inspired to perform following a brief appearance at the renowned Audlem gig night, the Chillinight. With the inherent love in Audlem for live music, a Blue Cafe live performance is a perfect venue given the support the band has had here over the years, and this venue sets the perfect stage”.
The ‘Picnic in the Hall’ is a Hoc19 event, which are all about the music: “People can fetch their own supper/picnic along with their own drinks so it becomes a reasonably cheap night out. We provide the setting, the audience provide the atmosphere, and the bands provide the entertainment.”
“The support to stage this gig alone has been incredible, previously without any promotion tickets have been snapped up for their Blue Café previous gigs, at the Chillinights and Blue Café Acoustic sessions, and the enquiries have already started”.
Tickets, £6.00 in advance, are available from the Old Priest House Coffee shop in Audlem, or Hoc’s Fat Pigeon Audlem – to reserve on the door email hoc19@me.com" target="_blank">hoc19@me.com.
