With local services being affected by today's and tomorrow's strike by council workers, Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council's environmental services manager, Ron Clarke, says that the council is confident that domestic waste will be collected from black bins. Much of Audlem has its bins collected on Wednesdays.

Me Clarke says: "Residents who normally have their bins collected on these two days should place their black bin out as normal. Clearly the council's collection service will face some disruption, but every attempt will be made to keep this to a minimum. Should your black bin not be emptied on either the Wednesday or Thursday, you are asked to place your bin out for collection on Saturday when it will be emptied."

He said there will be no collection of other bins than black on these two days.
