As we hoped, Billy Gibbons has got back to Audlem Online with some reflections on his birthday this weekend:

"50! That's half a century you know. Hold on..no it isn't, "cent", that is, well it nearly is. I wonder if I'll get any for my birthday? Oh, thats spelt "scent" isn't it. Actually, if you took some letters away and replaced them with some more, you'd get "sense". I wonder if I'll get any of that. Mind you, I've been devoid of it for nearly fifty years, why change now! Fifty Years! Seems like a long time. Then again, it is. That's what you get for being born at an early age."

"It only seems like it was 10 years ago since I was 40. If I had a pound everytime someone said to me "Life begins at forty", I would have, by now, the grand sum of £1.50. (I interrupted them halfway through the second time they said it). I've changed a lot over the years. Well, you have to, don't you? Imagine going through life with the same clothes on all the time. A few people have said I've put a lot of weight on recently. I'd like to use this opportunity to say that I haven't, I've just got fatter, that's all. And as for the grey hairs; that's dye, that is. Mind you, my eyes aren't what they used to be, but what they were before they were my eyes I can't remember. There's another thing that's not the same; my memory. I think, on my last trip to hospital, someone removed my memory and, in its place, put in a forgetery. Having said that, I haven't got a great deal to remember these days. And the things I am supposed to remember, I've forgotten. I think. Talking about thinking!

Thanks to an 'Audlem Online' contributor, I now have my very own 'Thinking Cap'! If only I could remember where I've put it....."
