Regular readers may recall our announcement on 4th October about Billy Gibbons' likely appearance on 'Strippers: Cars for Cash'.

The episode of Strippers that well-known Audlem character Billy Gibbons is on (unless they switch it again) should be on Monday 10th December at 10.00pm on the Nat Geo channel on Sky.

Billy says: "If you do watch it...don't blink or you'll miss it! Although, after seeing a clip of me on there, blinking may be a better option!

"But, in the background was a black dog that I hadn't noticed when I shot the episode. Nothing strange in that other than my Hot Rod is called 'Mitch'...named after my late black Labrador/Collie cross who looked exactly like the dog in the background. What are the chances, eh?"

The moment of fame came about purely by chance when Billy went to pick up some parts for one of his cars.

The Shropshire Star reported on this chance opportunity in October, reporting Billy as saying: ""I saw an advert for a company that were stripping cars and I needed two seats for my black Hot Rod. I went to Dartford to collect them and there were TV cameras there.

"They saw what I was buying and then rang me a few weeks later to do a follow up on the chairs – I told them I had thought about putting them in my rocket car instead and I also own a 1959 Vauxhall Cresta. So they did another follow up."

Billy, a regular of Audlem Online's Chatbox, said he had always been interested in cars once he discovered 'you could get ones different to the normal'.

He has owned his 1950s Hot Rod Deuce Coupe for 20 years but has sold it and bought it back three times during that time. "I'm very excited about it, I will get a kick out of seeing the Hot Rod on TV," he added.
