'Best of the Best' winner to be announced today in London

The winning village in the 'Best of the Best' competition which Audlem competed in earlier this year will be announced by Calor, the sponsors, today in London. Two representatives from the village have been invited to attend but, unlike last year, are not expecting to return home from the ceremony with a collection of awards.

Villages from all over the UK that have either won national or regional awards over the past 10 years will be represented at the event. Audlem is the 2005 'Northern Village of the Year' as well as the current 'Defra National Village of the Year' for 'Building Community Life'.
