On Saturday morning, an alert was given to Ralph Warburton of ADAS that tree cutters were there by the Copper Beech next to the Muller development. On investigation it was the arborists ADAS and others had spoken with earlier and they were there to remove two silver birch trees and a few leyllandii. Discussions with them on site revealed only a tidy up of the beech tree will be undertaken. Broken branches and perhaps up to two metres will be taken off some extending branches. A chesnut paling fence will be placed encircling the ground beneath the tree whilst building work goes ahead – to stop builders using the area to dump materials. It certainly seems that all have good intentions towards the tree. BUT, ADAS urges, keep a weather eye out!
