Beavers on the Green

Just before the bowling green was closed for the winter, the Bowling Club was delighted to welcome and entertain twenty Audlem Beavers in the sport of crown green bowling.

John Stead, the Club's Bowling Coach, supported by some ten volunteers from the Club, set out various challenges to the Beavers. These included trying to bowl through hoops and hitting targets on the green.

The bowls that were used were the smallest and lightest that we could find but the Beavers, some as young as six, had few problems in bowling them out.

The hour long session was completed with competitive matches for the youngsters.

Graham Doyle, the Beaver Leader, said "They had a great time. Perhaps we may have found some future budding bowlers".
