The BBC is filming in the village for a current affairs programme on prescription charges. As regular readers of Audlem Online, indeed much of the country that watches TV or read newspapers will know, while many English residents pay £7.10 a prescription, residents of Wales get them free. While the prices were raised in England in April, they were reduced by £2 in Scotland where their Parliament is also moving towards free prescriptions in the future. The BBC is examining these differences following the Audlem Online spoof poll on applying to join Wales which attracted a resounding 'Yes' vote. As soon as we know when the programme will be broadcast, we will publish the date.
