The International Basketball Tournament takes place in Macon on 3rd and 4th June 2006. Girls and boys born in 1993/1994 are eligible and accommodation will be provided and paid for by the Etoile Sportive Prisse Macon (ESPM) or with local families where possible. Meals are provided and paid for by the ESPM, in the Sports Arena, the Salle Des Sports, Prisse. Likely participants in the event are representatives of all Twin Towns.

The second opportunity is the Summer University Course in Macon from 23rd July – 4th August 2006. This is open to adults, ie 18 and over and to young people, aged 16, provided they are accompanied by their parents. The subject matter is French Language and two levels are available: (i) Beginners (minimum basic knowledge) and (ii) Those wishing to perfect their French Language. Lessons are for 4 hours in the morning and in the afternoon there is the opportunity of visiting Macon and its surrounding areas. Accommodation is provided at the Lycee, The Macon Davaye Agriculture and Wine Making Lycee. The price is 780 Euros per person (half board) including tuition fees and accommodation.

Macon is in an attractive part of the Burgundy region of France. If you are interested in either of these opportunities, please contact the Webteam (click 'Contacts' above) and your email and contact details will be forwarded to the secretary of the Twinning Association.
