Few villages could claim to be the Bagpipe and Hurdy Gurdy capital of the world – but that was exactly Audlem's role on Saturday afternoon. It's long been an established fact that Audlem has a higher per capita population of hurdy gurdy players than London, but bagpipes!

Dave Martin reports: "I attended the annual festivities (as a spectator for a change!) at the Shroppie Fly on Saturday afternoon. It seemed to be hugely successful, running from 12.00 noon to 10.30pm – what stamina! I believe there were players from all over the country, and the pub was certainly full of musicians."
