This usually annual event was held on Saturday 12th November in the conservatory of The Bridge Inn.
The room was packed out with about thirty musicians from all over the country, well, London and Cumberland were mentioned. About a dozen Hurdy Gurdys were brought (they rest on your lap and you have to play the tune-NOT a barrel organ!) beautiful shapes and decorated with inlay.
Joke: 'How long does it take to tune a hurdy gurdy?' answer: 'Nobody Knows!' One of the participants is a Hurdy Gurdy maker and repairer so there were many of his instruments in the room.
A few bagpipes and all sorts of wind and string instruments were there.
A wide variety of tunes and songs were played, most of the players can pick up a tune after they have heard it through once! It was lovely to meet old friends and new friends after missing 2020 and 2021.
The Bridge Inn generously supplied sandwiches and sausage rolls to the players.
