Trooping the Colour – today!

Major Paul Collis-Smith, who will be leading the Household Cavalry Band today at the Queen's Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour) in London this morning.

Paul was born and raised in Kinsey Heath, Audlem. He attended Buerton primary school then Brine Leas in Nantwich, and in 1990, at the age of 16, he joined the Army as a musician.

In his career he has been stationed at venues around the UK and also many places abroad including Germany, Bosnia, Gibraltar, Afghanistan and Cyprus.

After missing out on the Queen's Birthday Parade for the last 2 years due to the Covid restrictions reducing the size of the event, he is very proud to be in charge of the Household Cavalry band today.

editor's note:- glad to hear that his wife Nicola and children Charlotte, Abigail and William will be proudly watching today, as undoubtedly will Mark & Jenny just off Bagley lane!
