Awards for ADAS

This year, the Audlem-in-Bloom committee, a sub-committee of Audlem & District Amenities Society (ADAS), entered the village in North West in Bloom. We also entered the Cemetery and Turnpike Fields into "It's Your Neighbourhood" (IYN), a non-competitive scheme to encourage communities to make a difference in their environment. We are judged on the Royal Horticultural Society's themes of Horticultural excellence, Community involvement and Environmental friendliness.

The judging took place on 5 August 2022, involving committee members escorting the judge around the village, explaining the plants, the community groups and improvements made over the past twelve months.

Gold and Best Large Village

On 20 October, Suzie Warren and Neil Goodyear travelled to Horwich for the Large Village award. Having achieved Gold and Best Large Village in 2021, we were pleasantly surprised to be awarded Gold again and the Best Large Village award -- two years in a row for that top slot!

These awards are truly superb and reflect the efforts of all the volunteers across the village groups and the support the village residents give.

Finally, we'd like to give a big shout out and thank you to the Watering Teams, who turn out at least three times a week to ensure that all the plants are kept healthy and watered.
