AudlemOnline is back

Much to the relief of the AudlemOnline webteam, the website came back online late this afternoon after having been "down" for over 48 hours.

This is the longest "outage" any of us can remember in the years that the website has been running.

We should like to thank all those who sent in sympathetic (and some not so sympathetic) enquiries asking what had happened to us.

Apparently there were some issues in taking a back-up on Saturday on the Keele University based servers that ThenMedia uses to support all its websites. These back-ups are usually preserved as multiple copies, but unfortunately it appears that a mistake in the process meant that the back-up copy of the main system software was wiped clean.

So John Gunstone has spent an exhausting and frustrating 24 hours painstakingly rebuilding the system. This has now largely been completed, although one or two rough edges may still need a bit of attention,
